Late Update: Apologies

Dear Friends and Family,

First, let me apologize for this has been long overdue.

As many of you know, LeeAnne and I were preparing to head to Belize last year for a mission trip to visit our missionaries there and help them with a family camp.

Many of you were so gracious to send support and help to us to fund that trip, so much so that we were able to actually fully fund both of us. You have no idea how grateful and excited we were and still are!

Unfortunately, due to circumstances that happened in Belize, we had to cancel the trip entirely.

Earlier in the summer, Dan and Vicky Weaver, our missionaries in Belize, were in an automobile accident. The wreck put Vicky in a coma in Belize for some time. As our church corresponded back and forth with the Weaver family, we had to make the decision to stay in the states. Dan's plan was to get Vicky stateside since the healthcare in the US was far better than Belize's. Vicki was able to get the treatment she needed stateside and, as far as we know, they were able to get back on the field.

Since the trip was canceled, LeeAnne and I went back to regular business at our jobs and ministry that getting a letter out to all the people we initially sent letters to slipped our minds. This is why I opened the letter apologizing. It's a new year now, and I know some people are wondering how the trip went.

LeeAnne and I were both disappointed that we could not go on this trip, but there is a positive for not being able to make the trip.

This summer, our church is planning on a trip to India to serve with our missionaries there in the various ministries and work they do there. The funds that were raised for Belize can simply be applied to this trip. We now have a SUPER HEAD START in raising support for this trip, which is good because the trip to India for one person is close to the price that it cost for both of us to go to Belize.

This letter is meant to serve two purposes:
First, to inform you of the circumstances that surrounded last year’s Belize trip, and
Secondly, to ask that you would consider continuing to support us in our missions endeavors by contributing through prayer and financial means to our trip to India. As mentioned earlier, the cost for both of us to travel to Belize is the price it takes for ONE of us to travel to India. There are also a few extra costs as far as medical expenses to get the shots and medications that we require to travel to the country.

The trip to India will be July 28th-August 9th. The cost for the trip itself will be around $2500 per person, Plus another $140 for our visa and whatever cost for the shots we need to travel over there. As of now, we have enough to pay for one of us to travel and are currently trying to save funds to pay for both of us. We are both needing to be fully funded by June 1st.
If you wish to donate to our trip, there are a couple ways you can do so:

We are extremely sorry for such a late report on the subject of our mission to Belize and hope that the tardiness of this report will be found by you with a gracious heart, and we promise to be more punctual with our reports. If you have access to the internet, you can go to our missions blog (linked above) and keep up with how things are going.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions, and please continue to pray for LeeAnne and I as God grows us into ministers at home and abroad.

We love all of you and hope at some time we are able to see you face to face again (or for the first time, seeing as some of our respective families have not met our significant other).

Grace and Peace to you,
Jeremy and LeeAnne DeLara
